The Challenge The events of September 11‚ 2001 changed the way most of us most of view our lives‚ but they also changed the way we conduct business and look at security. Homeland security is a national issue that involves a partnership between business and government to meet national security objectives. BIR offers a variety of security solutions to meet the homeland security challenge: military bases‚ air cargo‚ and border checkpoints.  Permanent X-ray Inspection Facilities For large seaports Relocatable X-ray Inspection Facilities For smaller ports‚ military bases‚ and other perimeter security applications While many government officials would like someone to invent the “silver bullet” or “killer application” that will solve all of our national security problems in a single solution‚ the truth is‚ there is no such solution and there probably never will be. It is only in partnership that we will collectively meet homeland security goals. BIR is currently working with technology companies to find ways to integrate complementary technologies with our own to create more comprehensive homeland security solutions. We are also in partnership with government agencies to develop next generation security technology solutions.  All of these new solutions are designed to improve decision making‚ make dangerous materials and weapons easier to detect‚ and improve imaging techniques so that security personnel know they are viewing images they can trust.
